Monmouth Lib Dems back scrap the toll

Monmouth Lib Dems are backing the campaign to scrap the Severn tolls when the crossings return to public ownership.

Former Assembly Member for South Wales East and Monmouth parliamentary candidate, Veronica German says:

"There is no reason why this stretch of the M4 should be tolled once the costs of construction have been met. Not only would this save individual families and commuters money but the effect on business is considerable. Scrapping the tolls would boost the South Wales economy by around £107 million (Welsh Govt report) a year.  This will help rebalance the economy and drive growth in South Wales and the valleys."
